Hey there! Kind of new to forums and bikes. I dug around to see if I could find a post answering this and didn't come up with anything. So sorry if there is another post somewhere answering this!

I have a '99 V-Star Classic 650. There are a few missing body parts that the guy we bought it off of "couldn't find". Sigh.

So now I'm trying to dig around and see if I can find some decent used parts: Side covers, one passenger foot peg (how do you lose ONE peg?!), front fender, rear fender... so I'm wondering what other model years are compatible with a '99?

you're missing side covers, fenders, and a footpeg? So basically you just have a seat? Sounds like a fun ride. Pictures?

It varies year to year. Best bet would be checking ebay. Lots is compatible from the 650-1100 but it depends on what actual parts. Best bet is to create a list and post it, and it will be easier to tell you. How do you lose fenders?

We have a rear fender now, but the guy was attempting to "customize" it, and it's basically a big pile of sloppy unsanded bondo work and crappy weld jobs. I'd like to get that thing off there as soon as humanly possible.

And basically my question was, can I put a side cover off a 2001 on my '99 etc? I've googled this a million times and have been told to call a dealer. Which is fine, I just thought perhaps someone here might know off the top of their head "Oh yeah, 97-00's parts are all compatible."

The parts are interchangeable between all year models of the 650 classic. And a peg it EZ:cool: to lose.

Suhweet! That's exactly what I needed to know!

Finally figured out how to post pics! The bike missing all the pieces sounds worse than it looks! (sorry about the porch being a disaster, spring cleaning)

My question is will a 2006 yamaha v star 650 classic engine work on a 2000 yamaha v star 650 custom? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
